How to Combine Anderson and Deutsch Connectors in One Panel

A 4WD canopy electrical setup rarely has just one type of connection.
You might have Anderson plugs handling power and charging, while Deutsch connectors take care of lighting, switches and smaller accessory circuits.
Instead of mounting everything separately, Anderson and Deutsch connectors can be combined into one clean electrical panel.
Start with what the panel actually needs
Before deciding on a layout, work out what needs to connect through the panel.
A typical setup might have:
- Anderson plug for main power
- Anderson plug for solar
- Fridge or accessory power
- Deutsch connector for lighting
- Deutsch connector for switches or accessories
Once you know what needs to be there, you can build the layout around the electrical system rather than trying to make a generic mounting plate work.
Use each connector for the right job
There’s no reason every connection on the panel needs to match.
Anderson-style connectors are commonly used for removable power connections, while multi-pin Deutsch connectors are useful when several smaller circuits need to pass through one plug.
Combining them means each connector can do the job it’s best suited to while still keeping everything together.
Think about the layout
A clean panel isn't just about lining up as many plugs as possible.
Consider which connections you'll use most often and how cables will approach the panel. Also make sure there’s enough room behind the mount for connector bodies, wiring and cable bends.
Grouping similar connections together can make the finished setup easier to understand as well.
